II Course: Introduction to Contemporary Art

Miguel Á. Hernández-Navarro is Deputy Director of Cendeac, curator and art critic. He has written a good number of introductions to catalogues, articles and book chapters on contemporary art, psychoanalysis, art theory or extreme art. Jointly with Pedro A. Cruz he has written Impurities: the Hybrid Painting-Photograph in the latest Spanish Art (Murcia, 2004), The Shadow-Lack of the Real: Art as Vomitorium (Valencia, 2006) and has published with P. A. Cruz Cartographies of Body: the Corporal Dimension in Contemporary Art (Murcia, 2004). He is also the author of various fiction and poetry texts which have been awarded several literary prizes. Some of these have been included in Infrathin (what remains in the mirror when you stop looking at you). Currently he prepares the essays Antivision and Ways of Blindness in Contemporary Art from Malevich to Santiago Sierra and Robert Morris and Minimalism.
