The inauguration of the art exhibit “Nero Luce – Black Light:
works by Alberto Burri, Louise Nevelson, Nunzio di Stefano, Rossella
Biscotti� will take place in Milan at the prometeogallery of Ida
Pisani on Thursday, September 19th 2013 at 7 p.m.

"Brought together by the common denominator of Black, interpreted by
each artist from a different angle, the works actually seem to aim at
giving life to manifold degrees of luminosity, which each time is
achieved through original and extremely personal materials and
techniques.

Despite always having been considered the negation of light, if you
consider that in the cosmological sense the universe is mostly made up
of dark matter and energy, Black is still a largely unknown and
widespread protean entity.

As Frédéric Portal mentions, in Genesis cosmogonies describe the
battle of light against darkness. One can find this secret struggle
between light and darkness in the works of artists such as Alberto
Burri, Louise Nevelson, Nunzio di Stefano and young Rossella Biscotti,
artists who are committed to providing greatly different suggestive
shapes, degrees and intensity of such an antinomy.

At the exhibit visitors will be able to view examples of radical
balance by Alberto Burri, of different surface treatment by Louise
Nevelson, by Nunzio di Stefano viewers will be able to appreciate on
one hand the knowledgeable assemblies and on the other the rigorous
subtractive and structural action of the volumes and reliefs blackened
by soot of burning wood. Alongside these creations, the work of young
Rossella Biscotti dialogues with its own invented figure that carries
light through original conductors."

The exhibition at the prometegallery of Ida Pisani stimulates a
reflection on a color, black, considered by some non-color. It also
inspires considerations on an entity, light, on which ideal,
conceptual reverberation, a vast literature corpus and even aesthetic
thought have never stopped questioning.

The exhibition will be open until October 18.

Giovedì 19 Settembre 2013, ore 19, presso prometeogallery di Ida
Pisani a Milano sarà inaugurata la mostra "Nero Luce: opere di
Alberto Burri, Louise Nevelson, Nunzio di Stefano, Rossella
Biscotti�.

"Avvicinate mediante il comune denominatore del nero, ottenuto da
ciascun artista con valenze difformi, le opere in realtà appaiono
protese a dar vita a gradi diversi di luminosità , raggiunta di volta
in volta attraverso materie e tecniche originali e personalissime.

Nonostante il nero sia stato sempre considerato la negazione della
luce, esso Ú tuttora entità proteiforme in gran parte ignota e
ovunque diffusa se si considera che in senso cosmologico l’universo
Ú in gran parte costituto da materia ed energia oscura.

Nel Genesi – come ricorda Frédéric Portal – le cosmogonie
parlano del combattimento della luce contro le tenebre. Una segreta
lotta tra luce e oscurità si rinviene infatti anche nell’opera di
artisti come Alberto Burri, Louise Nevelson, Nunzio di Stefano e la
giovane Rossella Biscotti, artisti in diverso modo impegnati a fornire
di quell’antinomia, forme, gradi e intensità di forte suggestione.
E se di Alberto Burri in mostra saranno osservabili esempi di radicale
equilibrio, nel diverso trattamento delle superfici di Louise
Nevelson, e di Nunzio si apprezzano in un caso i sapienti assemblaggi
e nell’altro la rigorosa azione sottrattiva e di strutturazione dei
volumi e dei rilievi lignei anneriti mediante l’azione combustiva.
Accanto a queste opere, il lavoro della giovane Rossella Biscotti si
rende dialettico con una propria cifra d’invenzione veicolante la
luce attraverso originali ‘conduttori’".

La mostra presso la prometegallery di Ida Pisani avvia una riflessione
su un colore, il nero, da taluni ritenuto non-colore, e su una
entità , la luce, sulle cui risonanze ideali, concettuali e poetiche
una folta letteratura e lo stesso pensiero estetico non hanno smesso
di interrogarsi.

La mostra sarà aperta fino al 18 Ottobre.
